Last Saturday, there were approximately 85 demonstrators, not counting small children. Half the group picketed the Peach Street side of the Professional Building, and half picketed the State Street side. People for Life has stated that it hopes these demonstrations will encourage all concerned to think carefully about all the ramifications of an abortion facility in the heart of the Erie community. A resolution passed this week in the U.S. House of Representatives should provide more food for thought. The House on Tuesday passed H.Res. 350, a sense of the House resolution introduced by GOP Reps. Thomas Tancredo (CO), Joseph Pitts (PA) and Chris Smith (NJ), that calls for an investigation and hearings concerning reports that some U.S. businesses are harvesting fetal tissue from abortions for use by medical researchers. Not only are abortion "clinics" places where preborns are killed and women are brutalized. According to credible documentation now before the Congress of the United States, they are also places where the bodies of the weak and innocent are cannibalized for profit, routinely carved and dissected for medical research experiments. Some even charge that babies are being aborted alive and then drowned to ensure intact cadavers for the medical research market.
