Real World Compassion - Youth Group to Picket Professional Building

This Monday at 3:30 PM, the young people of the St. Peter Cathedral Youth Group will conduct an hour long public demonstration at 1611 Peach St. to express their opposition to the opening of an abortion facility in Erie. Just prior to the demonstration, People for Life will speak to the group about the facts of human development prior to birth and abortion.

The St. Peter Youth Group consists of students in the seventh through twelfth grades. The group is conducting a week long project called Youth in Service. The project is designed to expose the young people to a variety of volunteer activities which benefit the community, especially the needy. A number of young people from other local churches are expected to team up with the St. Peter Youth Group for the week's activities.

People for Life president Tim Broderick praised the demonstration plans, commenting on Sunday, "How wonderful that these young people are learning to practice compassion in all aspects of their lives, not only in their private relationships but also in their public lives. They will be learning valuable lessons in responsible citizenship and genuine respect for all human beings, including those whom society has abandoned. How wonderful, as well, that they will be learning to reach out publicly, in peace and humility, to their entire community, appealing, as Abraham Lincoln might say, to the "better angels" of our common human nature!"
