Partial-Birth Abortion and the Pending Erie Abortion Facility
Today, the U.S. Supreme Court by a narrow margin sided with President Bill Clinton and Vice-President Al Gore on partial-birth abortion. The High Court struck down a law enacted by the people of Nebraska which would have banned partial-birth abortion in their state. For an explanation of the partial-birth abortion process, see: https://peopleforlife.org/pbafront.html People for Life President Tim Broderick said today, "In light of today's setback in the nationwide effort to stop partial-birth abortion, Erie residents should consider that the Yellow Page ads for Erie's pending abortion facility boldly proclaim abortions to 24 weeks. Most partial-birth abortions are carried out between the 19th and 24th weeks of pregnancy. Almost all of us have heard explanations of the partial-birth abortion procedure. This is the sort of thing that is now in store for Erie. This is why there have been 71 demonstrations at 1611 Peach St., and this is why these demonstrations will continue - for years, if necessary. As people are once again reminded of the heinous nature of abortion and the callous disregard for human beings' lives at the highest levels of our government, it is my hope that these local demonstrations will significantly increase in size and perhaps in frequency, as well." People for Life will be conducting demonstrations this Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM and this Saturday, from 1:30 to 2:30 PM. In celebration of their young lives, children who attend the demonstration this Saturday accompanied by an adult will each be given a pro-life helium balloon. They might not know all the facts of life, but they know that it is wrong to hurt little babies, and so children are welcome at our demonstrations, despite strident complaints from a few abortion advocates.
