This bill was introduced in House of Representatives on June 14, 2001 by Rep. Jim Greenwood, R-PA. It is a hostile alternative to the Rep. Dave Weldons's Human Cloning Prohibition Act (H.R. 1644). Contrary to its title, Greenwood's Cloning Prohibition Act would NOT prohibit the cloning of human beings. It would, in fact, authorize the cloning of human beings to be killed in scientific research. The bill would merely discourage the placement of any cloned human being into a woman's womb (what some are calling "reproductive cloning").
PLEASE OPPOSE THIS BILL
