All high school juniors and seniors from Erie, Crawford, Mercer, and Venango Counties are invited to compete in the National Right to Life High School Oratory Contest Regional Competition sponsored by People for Life! Students will present their speeches at the PFL Pro-Life Center in Erie, Pennsylvania, Saturday, May 3, 2003. The competition will begin at 1:00 PM.
The winner of our local contest will receive a $100 cash prize. He or she will also be eligible to compete in the State Pro-Life Oratory Contest in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on Saturday, May 17, 2003. The state contest is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation.
The winner of the state contest will represent Pennsylvania at the National Right to Life High School Oratory Contest in St. Louis, Missouri on July 5, 2003.
Contestants will research, write, and present an original pro-life speech on abortion, infanticide, or euthanasia. Speeches are to be 5 to 7 minutes in length.
