Everyone who is able to walk is strongly encouraged to do so, but those who would have difficulty walking the distance are encouraged to ride in the motorcade that will follow the marchers. The March will get underway from Perry Square in downtown Erie at 11 a.m. Parade marshals will begin staging the vehicles for the motorcade at 10:30 a.m. The vehicles will line up on the south side of Perry Square along South Park Row. Marchers should assemble at the new Pavilion in west Perry Square by 10:45 a.m. Parking will be available in the parking garage on Peach St. between 7th and 8th Sts. and in the lots just east of Perry Square on French St. Please remember to dress for winter weather and be sure to wear good, non-slip footwear, just in case you encounter any icy spots during the March. At 11:00 a.m., the March will proceed west on W. 6th St., south on Sassafras St., east on W. 10th St., and north on State St. back to Perry Square, where there will be a brief Pro-Life Rally.
Please share this information with ALL of your pro-life contacts. Sen. Michele Brooks will attend the Erie March for Life and be the keynote speaker during the closing program. Sen. Brooks was elected to represent Pennsylvania's 50th Senate District in November 2014. Prior to her becoming a state senator, she was the state representative for Pennsylvania House District 17, elected to that office in November 2005. The Senator is a wonderful speaker. She is well-versed in the human life issues and has a loving heart for moms with children, born and unborn. The 50th Senate District encompasses all of Crawford and Mercer counties and parts of Erie and Warren counties. Sen. Brooks lives in Jamestown, Pennsylvania with her husband Guy and two children. The Erie March for Life will begin at 11 a.m. (Saturday, January 9). Please arrive at the new pavilion in West Perry Square by 10:45 a.m. The event will conclude by 12:30 p.m. Remember to dress for winter weather and be sure to wear good, non-slip footwear, just in case you encounter any icy spots during the March.
