Local Participation
     Last year 200 area residents traveled with us to Washington to call for change. Among these were over two-dozen college students from Edinboro University, Gannon University, Merchyhurst College; 50 middle-school students, several organized church groups, and many families with children of all ages.

The Trip
     The many hours on the road and on the cold streets of Washington can be exhausting, but through their trials many marchers have gained a new sense of solidarity with the unborn and with the pro-life cause.
     Marchers will board Anderson Coach & Travel buses at the St. George Church parking lot, 5145 Peach St., Erie, at 11:00 pm, Sunday evening, January 23. Cars must be parked along the northern and eastern perimeters of the parking lot, where they are less likely to interfere with regular church activities.
     Our group will arrive in Washington at RFK Stadium at approximately 7:30 am. The buses will remain parked at the stadium throughout the day until everyone returns nine hours later, at 5:00 pm.
     We will return to Erie approximately 1:30 am, depending on traffic and road conditions, early Tuesday morning, January 25. The bus trip squeezes the entire March for Life experience into about 26 hours!

Places to Visit
     Although united by a common cause, People for Life's marchers are a diverse group, drawn from all across the northwestern Pennsylvania area. When they arrive in Washington, they break into smaller groups and spend the morning visiting a variety of attractions in our nation's capitol.
     Points of special interest include government sites such as the Capitol Building, White House, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, and Vietnam Wall; the March for Life headquarters and exhibits at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill; the United States Holocaust Museum; and National Right to Life's headquarters at 512 l0th Street NW. National Right to Life is right across the street from Ford's Theater, where Lincoln was assassinated, and next door to the Petersen House, where Lincoln died.

Looking Out for Each Other
     You won't need to worry if you are unfamiliar with Washington or not with a group of friends. Your bus captain will carefully review everything you need to know, and you will have an opportunity to team up with a small group that will be guided throughout the course of the day by one of People for Life's many March for Life veterans.
